Overview
Promote positive public relations between the school district and community. Prepare and provide information to the public about the activities, goals, and policies of the school district. Distribute pertinent information about the district and its activities to all stakeholders. Establish and maintain internal and external communication programs which promote an understanding and appreciation of the district’s efforts to provide students positive learning outcomes.

General Description:
The Director of Communications and Community Relations will be responsible for the following:
Professional Conduct
• Maintains a high level of ethical behavior, including confidentiality with sensitive information and data.
• Identifies projects that require ongoing oversight.
• Plans and creates written drafts of phases of project development, and presents these to the Superintendent for review.
• Manages multiple projects with firm deadlines simultaneously.
• Ensures timeliness in the completion of assignment projects.
Connects with the Community
• Communicates District programs, instructional goals and objectives to the greater community within the context ChefLab’s ongoing mission, growth and strategic planning.
• Responds to requests for information about all programs under the organizations general umbrella
• Serves as liaison between the organization and parent/community groups that support the program
• Formats and manages publications from content through layout design including but not limited to educational and promotional publications, forms and other printed and electronic materials.
• Provides resources, support and training to help staff in their communication with parents and the community.
• Establishes partnerships with the other entities, private and public (MOE, ganim, chugim, school’s, parents ambassadors and potential financial supporters) that serve the organizations communities and coordinates communication efforts with those community partners.
Oversees Website/Social Media
• Coordinates writing, editing and design layouts of website and other electronic school system publications.
• Manages overall social media presence.
• Coordinates the production and distribution of news media and publication releases
Requirements:
● Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing or related field
● Background in early education
● Experience in administrative role or as an executive assistant to a high level administrator or corporate executive.
● Experience raising funds – preferred
● Experience managing financial budget -preferred
● Prior experience working in early education- preferred
● Outstanding interpersonal skills
● Dedication to a high level of confidentiality
● Exceptionally capable in both written and oral communication
● Excellent time management and organizational skills while still exhibiting a high degree of flexibility
● Technologically savvy: proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Suite (Calendar, Slides, Sheets, Docs.), Canva, and Adobe
● Proven success at working collaboratively and efficiently on a creative and goal-oriented team
● Able to make quick decisions, take initiative, and prioritize tasks within a dynamic work environment
